Dear Stranger
Jan/30/2021Was thinking of a neat idea today that could help fix a few problems across the game, and add a new pursuit: The Stranger has been spending a lot of time over the last season learning how to use stasis, and helping us wield it. In the next season she continues to offer us the weekly bounty/quests but instead of earning fragments this time, we will be earning armour mods.
The Stranger decides that it is time for us to understand how to counter Stasis, so each time we complete one of her bounties, we get a mod for a particular armour slot (The season slot where Warmind Cell and Charged with Light are) that has the following description:
- Anti-Stasis
- Slot Cost: 4
- Description: Reduces that amount of time you can be slowed and frozen by 20%. This effect stacks with each mod applied.
So if you had 5 on, you would become invulnerable to being frozen and slowed. It would even be fine if there was individual resistance mods for : Freeze, Slow and Shatter, so you have some tradeoffs to figure out.
That way you could spec out so that Hunter that comes blazing at you with a glacier grenade and Shatterdive lands and you say: “Nice try bruH” > Shotgun blasts are heard.
It keeps the Stasis classes strong, but allows people that hate it to spec out against it. That adds uncertainty for the Stasis weilder. They know they can lay waste, but there’s a chance it won’t work which makes them think twice before going ham. That would be all you need to get some balance back.
I’d prefer that to an outright nerf of Stasis classes. Stasis is awesome in PVE, it’s just PVP where it’s a problem.
